NEWS

25th of November

Not had a lot of time lately to update this site. I have some nice material ready for it but I have decided to once again change this site. I'm going to simplify it even further, turning it into a portfolio site. Basic design is a rework of the current one. I'll have space for bigger images though so I need to redo everything. Will take a while.

I don't have the time (and motivation) to do reviews, write stuff and make a lot of work out of it like I set out to do so all of those menu options will be removed and the frontpage simplified to very basic information and navigation.

6th of August

I haven't had an awful lot of time lately. So just a minor update for now.

Confrontation has evolved a bit more, it's starting to look right now but i'll put in some more time i'm sure.

Argh, stupid T-Com, Line was dead and it took them ages to fix it... So this July update is quite a bit later than expected...

Started another Illustration, called Confrontation.

This one is going to get it's own page. My girlfriend already thinks it's great as it is but I think it needs some more work.
Won't go into heavy detailing, I want to try something with selective detail. The extreme detailing I did in the past on most images kills the fun and often can kill the image as well... This one has a nice atmosphere and I don't want to wreck it :) Go have a look!

Added a little sneak preview section to the Illustrations page to show other works in progress that haven't progressed to the point of getting their own page yet (uncertain if interesting enough to finish).

I have been experimenting with the RF flash triggers and they work pretty well. Outside I noticed it sometimes fired without reason, probably caused by some stray signal. Maybe preventable if I change frequencies on them but haven't tried that yet. It happened only a couple of times, not often enough to be annoying. Inside I didn't notice this effect. I used the three strobes instead of my normal setup up of 3 constant lights (just normal spots) and they work flawlessly. Also a lot easier to use, the spots where underpowered and required tripod use thanks to the pretty long shutter times. The strobes where dialed down quite a bit and I could still shoot hand held with ease. Also making it possible to easily adjust light output from each source made life a bit easier. All in all I think for their cheap price these things are definately worth their money and are a good buy for anyone wanting to experiment with RF strobe triggers.

I haven't tried out what their working distance was yet, never got more than 2 or 3 meters away on any shot.

Had a busy week with work, having visitors over and going to a nice medieval festival so I didn't manage to update until today and even this one is minor. Just a couple of new images over on the Photography gallery. Go have a look.

2nd of June 2008

Just a small update today. Had no time to try out my new triggers yet and didn't have time to take pictures either lately, or draw anything. Time is my biggest enemy it seems.

I've got a couple of pictures laying around that I took the last couple of weeks andI've been looking through some of my old stuff digging up some pictures that will be posted the comming week though. For now I'll leave you with the monthly highlight and a single panorama.

SEPTEMBER HIGHLIGHT

Going to the red door

Story: Shot at Burg Eltz, Germany. All manual, SB-600 as flash, zoomed seperate from the camera and also manual. Atleast two stops underpowered compared to the camera to let as much ambient light seep in as possible and yet bring out the red door by aming the flash at it.

Shot with: Nikon D300 @ 1/13th, F/8, Nikon 18-200 VR @ 18mm, SB-600 @ 85mm

Postproduction: Not a lot.
